Includes a list of subscribers and contributions from the Village of Southampton to the Sanitary Fair held in Brooklyn to aid the U. S. Sanitary Commission, which was kept by Colonel B.H. Fostes. Also includes a set of 29 handwritten notes by prominent Americans which were auctioned at the Sanitary Fair with proceeds going to aid the U. S. Sanitary Commission. The notes were collected by Gertrude Lefferts Vanderbilt, a writer and authority on Kings County history. Also included is the Sanitary Fair publication, THE DRUM BEAT, 1864 and a floor plan of the fair, 1864.
